Sergi Campos – ESR 5 @ULEI

Sergi Campos was born in Barcelona (Spain) in 1995. He obtained his BSc degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2019 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, performing his thesis in electrochemistry titled “Ru and RuO2 Nanoparticles Supported onto Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes for Water Splitting”. He also performed a research internship at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) to work with Graphene Nanoribbons and Nanoporous and Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy (STM). In July 2020 he finished his Master in Multidisciplinary Research in Experimental Science at Pompeu Fabra University, together with the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST). Here he performed his thesis “Synthesis, Characterization and Post-Transfer Characterization of Chemically Functionalized Graphene nanoribbons” under the supervision of Aitor Mugarza and César Moreno at the ICN2, in the Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy Group. In January 2021, Sergi joined the Leiden Institute of Chemistry at Leiden University (Netherlands), to start his Ph.D. under the supervision of Associate Prof. Irene Groot. His research concerns the synthesis of BN-doped carbon-based 2D materials.
