ESR 5 Sergi poster presentation at NCCC

ESR 5 Sergi Campos Jara from Leiden University has presented the advances of his research with a poster titled ”Synthesis & Characterization of BN Doped Graphene on Cu(111) Thin Film and Single Crystal” at the annual The Netherlands’ Catalysis and Chemistry Conference. This event was held in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, on May 9th-11th 2022.

Merging Biology and Photovoltaics: How Nature Helps Sun-Catching

Merging Biology and Photovoltaics: How Nature Helps Sun-Catching

In this review, STiBNite ESR Luca Cavinato (TUM) presents an extensive overview of emerging bio-derived materials suitable for organic solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells and perovskite solar cells. Their production, handling, characterization, and implementation as bio-hybrid components, such as substrates, electrodes, photoactive layers, carrier transporters, light-trapping layers and sealant films, are critically discussed.

Versatile Biogenic Electrolytes for Highly Performing and Self-stable Light-emitting Electrochemical Cells

Versatile Biogenic Electrolytes for Highly Performing and Self-stable Light-emitting Electrochemical Cells

In this research paper, STiBNite ESR Luca Cavinato (TUM) presents a new family of green electrolytes in light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs). Self-stable and highly performing LECs are achieved by combining novel biogenic cellulose-based electrolytes and archetypical emitters (i.e., conjugated polymers (CPs) and ionic transition metal complexes). For the first time in the field, green electrolytes do not jeopardize device performance.

STiBNite 1st Summer School in Munich

STiBNite 1st Summer School in Munich

Title: Surface-Confined Synthesis and Advanced Surface Characterization Tools

We are thrilled to announce the 1st Summer School of the European project MSCA-ETN-2020 STiBNite “Tailored materials for Sustainable Technologies: programming functional molecular components through Boron-Nitrogen doping” from 28-29th of September (virtual/presence). International experts will teach us microscopy and spectroscopy techniques as well as theoretical modeling approaches applied on surfaces decorated with molecular nanostructures and 2D materials, such as pristine and doped graphene derivatives. This will be followed by vivid sessions focused on how open access, gender policies, ethics in science, and communication skills are shaping the future of science.
